Summer Fun!

On Saturday we took Mellow and Mongo to Rotary Park for a long walk. They loved going there because they get to run a muck around the numerous baseball and softball fields; Mellow of course acting as our fearless leader and occasionally ignoring our commands(or should I say suggestions). In the end, the dogs were sufficiently pooped out and ready for a relaxing day on our cold tile floor.

On Sunday we had a great time! Summer Fun to the max witht he dogs!
We went over to our friends The Burger's swimming pool (about a mile down the street). The Dogs loved it, swimming is mellow's absolutely favorite thing to do, being raised in Florida has that affect of people and dogs. The Burgers have two puppys, Maddy and Mason, both yellow labs one 6 mos and one 3 mos. They have the best time with mellow and Mongo. Yesterday, we discovered that Maddy and Mongo are boyfriend and girlfriend and that Mason had a thing for Mellow. However, Mellow had no interest and only wanted a toy in the pool to jump in after ... Mellow's brain...." water, toy jump , toy toy toy water, jump, throw toy now jump!" Below you see a picture of Maddy and Mellow waiting on the stairs for one of us to throw the toy in the pool. Dont be fooled... Mellow doesnt enter the water from the stairs, se only enters with a diving run and jump! (ESPN dog champion style)
Here is Cutie Mongo, He loves to swim. He is more of the lazy river type though. He goes in from the stairs 90% of the time and if in a hurry he submarines under the water for a second or two, finally realizing that keeping his head out of the water is the best for breathing :) Mongo also gets tired easily and he will just use his front legs to paddle or he will stop paddling until his head sinks a little and then he remembers, OH yea i have to paddle, hehe!
