The World's Greatest Dogs

Mellow, 5 yr old black lab and Mongo, 1yr old chocolate lab are the world's greatest dogs...no doubt! Mellow is about 80-85 lbs and Mongo, the puppy, is a modest 100lbs. Just for further mention, Mongo's nickname is Choco Roco (oh yea!) Mellow and Mongo are definetly personalities all their own. If you have ever seen Rob and Big on Mtv, Mellow is much like Big Black, the enforcer, chill but a presence and Mongo is Rob, hyperactive, crazy ideas and immortal. These pups are our first children and will always hold a place in our hearts, with that said please enjoy the pics or our backyard and such below.

Our dogs also believe they are MMA, UFC fighters... let me explain. When we moved into the house there was a large 30 foot pool in the backyard, we removed the above ground pool and attempted to grow grass where the pool was. We had a temporary fence up and the grass was taking very well.... UNTIL mell and choco roco figured out how to break through the fence. Below is what we now have, our very own dog fighting pit. (we are just waiting for the human society to come knocking on the door) the pit is about 8 feet or so. The dogs use this for wrestling, hanging out in the morning and surveying the neighbors. Mellow and Mongo think it is patio furniture for dogs or something. Every morning we see them basking in the damp sand pit just taking it all in.

Mongo's attention span in high test -- he is locked in, but not for long if this is my dog
Mellow warming up for the next take down in the PIT of doom :)

Mell and Mongo after be disturbed from the morning relaxation in the backyard

The wrastlin' begins.... Wheres the hulk when you need him?

Our dogs also really enjoy vegetation.. especially Mongo, he loves sticks, branches, anything that is part of a tree. Here is chewing on a branch piece

More vegetation for the goofiest dog ever

Mellow and Mongos only toy, they have 2 kongs just like this. It is the only toy mongo will not swallow and mellow will not destroy.

If only they didnt cost 15$ a pop...jeez dogs are more expensive than husbands...haha jk
Well hope you enjoy this ode to our pups: The World's Greatest Dogs

2 Wild and Crazy Nights

Friday Night

On Friday we played couples golf with the Bradfords at Greene Country Club. This week the theme was Olympics. Because the Olympics this year is in Beijing, China the golf outing had a chinese theme. Now at Couples Golf two couple pair up to make a team and then they play 9 holes of golf, best ball style, but there is always a little more too it, and alcohol is premitted and encouraged. The teams with lowest scores at the end of 9 holes are rewarded small cash prizes, first, second and third places. Dinner is served, optional, afterwards and is always aligned with the theme for the night. So each hole we had to do something different, hole one each person had to only drive, irons, chip or putt. 2: you had to wear a mask while driving, 3: use 2nd best ball 4: where a hat and goggles while putting 5: everyone had to use the same and only club for the entire hole. 6: play the hole backwards 7: hit all shots on one leg 8: dont remeber 9: yell a very long chinese greeting to a neighboring couple

Aside from me almost causing serious injury to my hubby and yelling "dont hurt yourself" as I did it the night was great (check out the bradford blog for more on that tidbit) We enjoyed the yummy chinese buffet dinner afterwards and then called it a night. It makes you think 3 years ago my night was just starting at 930 and now thats when its winding down... funny how times and priorities change.

Saturday Night

Satruday night Adam and I drove up to Columbus, OH about an hour away to attend the first annual wine and cheese dinner party at the residence of Jonah and Jodie Schneider. Adam and Jonah grew up together and we the couple was married in May 08 . So it was a great chance to see their house and just hang out. We got there around 6, perfect timing. We shared the evening with two other couples, 'Angry Dave', Paul and Lauren Cloud. The wine and cheese (water and cheese party for me :) haha) Jonah and Jodie got their wine selection from Vino 100 an awesome wine store with 100 wines under 25 dollars. The hit wine of the night was called New Age its a toned down champagne esque wine with 9.5 % alcohol and supposedly really tasty. After filling up on cheese we had lasagna salad and garlic bread.

Well the guys and girls split respectively and chatted about anything and everything. The guys, including my hubby enjoyed more than a little wine and eventually ran to the gas station for some stoggies (swisher sweets to be exact) around midnight we managed to make it home despite that fact Adam was taking random pictures as I was passing semis on the way back to beavercreek.

All in all, the weekend was great and whats better than a lazy sunday afternoon for the cherry on top

Baby Bath

So, last Thursday Angie, Diana and I met up at Bar Louie, a restaurant/corporate hang out, for a little girl time. It had been about 2 months or so since our last no boys allowed meeting, so it was long overdue. We enjoyed some yummy soft pretzel sticks with dipping sauces as well as a meal. But back to the pretzel sticks... these were awesome, soft, salty, warm and they had sauce. Queso, honey mustard and regular mustard came with the appetizer, but for some reason I cant get over their yummyness. Not to mention that since I have been pregnant yellow mustard has become my favorite condiment, yes even surpassing ketchup, I load mustard on a lot of things, especially the soft warm pretzel stick at Bar Louie. But aside from my food fetish the talk was fun, everything from houses, jobs and even yucky girl stuff and baby stuff that I will not go in to detail for the sack of the readers, yet it was very helpful with all the questions I have no that I am begining to see the light at the end of the tunnel for my pregnancy.

After we were done talking it up at the restaurant Angie invited us back to her house for some baby Avery time. This was also where the husbands were drinking beer and playing the Wii. When we all go there it was time for Avery's bath so as girls do we flocked together to give Avery her bath. But the coolest thing was the bath itself, the infant bath had a spongy bear so that it was comfy for her, but as a soon to be mom walking done an aisle at Babys R US I never in a miilion years would have picked up the foam bear thingy. I probably would have thought it was a dumb waste of money advertising shot. WOW what an eye opener, I know the basic needs but I really am a deer in the headlights when it comes to the tips and tricks to having a happy baby and MOM. So to Avery and her foam bear I say Thank You for the baby bath lesson :)

The One & Only

Ladies and Gentlemen I present to you an Ode to my One and Only. This is long overdue, always in my head, fogging every thought..... (girlish sigh) He is just perfect in every way and is always right. Why hold back any longer!

His name is Adam C. Horseman.... sigh... wow he's so cute!

He is a Cancer born July 8, 1982 and most of all my hunk of burning love. As requested by my "therapist," aka my one and only, I should just let my feelings out and let the world now how much I love my man, after all he is perfect. Horse, as so many know him, is just a dream. Since becoming a part of my life I am whole, he completes me there is no other more cliche way of saying it. Mr. Horseman my forever crush sends the butterflys in my stomach swriling, or maybe thats the baby, and tingles down my spine, or is that a pinched nerve? HEHE Either way let it be known to the world that I Love Adam Horseman, my husband, father of my children, keeper of my sanity (for better or worse, hehe) and the light that guides me through the dark nights.

Yes the above is all true, just written with a satiric humor so not to gross out every reader. but in all seriousness Horse is a sweety and I love him with all my heart, eventhough I seem more worried about the laundry that needs to be but away or the endless dog hair on the kitchen floor, I am extremely lucky and happy to be with my hubby, plus how could I not be he is a keeper! and he's always right... this help my decision making issues.

Love ya boo

Oh what a HUNK.... hmmmm... sigh... butterflys....rainbows....sigh .....love :)

Sofa Me This!

Hello all, as you know the Horseman's are welcoming some new additions to our family, last Tuesday we were blessed with a beautiful LEATHER RECLINER, woohoo! and only 8 days later we are happy to welcome a NEW SOFA to the mix...haha ok I know its a little much, but its better than buyers remorse. ANyways, the couch I think we bought is similar to the one below. It should be pretty dog proof and stain resistant. Adam is picking up the couch with the help of Jason, thank you Jason, and it should be ready for use by the evening... woo hoo!

Well I am off to pay attention at work and then home to clean for the newest arrival.

A quick baby update... the real newest addition!

I am 19 and a half weeks along, Adam and I will find out the sex of the baby on Thursday July 31. We are so excited, I have no idea what it is and Adam thinks its a girl. I now have anoticeable baby bump, especially in tighter shirts I am a 50 /50 shot for being prego or just having one hell of a beer belly! HAHAHA by the way thanks Angie the maternity clothes are my new best friends :)

So keep checking in for updates on the baby and the soon to be parents!

Sunday, 1245pm Beavercreek, OH

Sunday afternoon, Adam and I went to see the new Batman movie with the Bradfords. Somehow they were able to get tickets for this hugely popular premire weekend, thanks!
Batman: The Dark Knight with Christian Bale as Batman and Heath Ledger as the Joker was twisted, dark, full of underlying psychological themes that a psych would have a field day with; and most of all one hell of a movie.
Heath Ledger as the Joker was unrecognizeable. It is a wonder how a role could have disturbed an actor to the point of taking his own life. After seeing the Joker's developed character, completely psychotic, it now makes since. I would want to see the the movie again just to dive into the Joker as the character rather than seeing him just as Heath Ledger and thinking about his supposed suicide/ OD...whatever. The Joker in this movie goes far beyond the Jack Nicholson Joker of the prior series. Everything from the make up, ticks, mannerisms, everything makes you think the bastard is real and the next time i open my shower door he is going to ask me "Why so Serious?" ... so its not as bad as a scary movie, but I am trying to share the fact that the Joker is a character dynamic that has far surpassed Batman or any other character role in the film.

Above you see Heath Ledger as the Joker, the make up, eyes, scars all of it just looking into an empty soul of life or death both for the character and the actor.
Woo... thats a little hot and heavy!
To conlcude the movie is dark, but stellar! 4 more batman movies are in the works with Christian Bale as Batman.
Check it out, definently go to an early show.

Pics Pics Pics

I love pictures!

Here are some Pics of the Horseman adventures for the last week or so, all talked about below.

Why do I love peanut butter? As you see below it is the ultimate babysitter, for the dogs, once they are under the magic wand of PB Mellow and Mongo are no longer in my dinner, my shoes my lap or really anything but the delicious mystery that is smashed peanuts...YUM!

The Hot Dog couch, EWWW!

The Brand new beautiful Chair.... OH so comfy

Mongo desperately figting his graduation hat.

But then with the help of a treat he learned to smile for the camera

The star of the show!

Mongo celebrated his first birthday on July 4th ... we are shocked he made it this far! 3 surgeries, a rock, zipper, rope and pancreatitis this dog is made of steel by now!

Tonight we are playing couples golf with the Bradfords, I think, so this should be a great time! To check out even more fun pics, like those of last weeks golf outing, click over the Bradford blog. http://www.bradford8.blogspot.com/

Gone Creekin'

Howdy partners! Well today I went creekin' with the YFA, Youth Fitness Academy, crew. We walked a mile or two to the creek in between Main Elem and Beavercreek High School and by golly we did us some explorrrrrinnn' It was a ton of fun, really, It was my coworker and I and three summer camp girls, all super excited to investigate the wildlife of the neighborhood creek. We were on a mission to catch craw-daddys but we only found a few and they were babies so we said we come back for them, much like the emphamis catfish in Grumpier Old Men. However, we did come across a bunch of minnows!
I had no idea a creek could be 4 ft deep, yes at least that...OMG I think my sciveys were almost in jeopardy because of the rising water. But the best part was the kids, they loved it, exploring trying to catch minnows and just having a good ole time.
Disclaimer: YFA is not responsible for 1000's of bug bites and possible ticks :) YUCK

How exciting

So blog nation... how exciting is this, over the weekend Adam and I went to Value City Furniture, the big name furniture store, oh yea we are high rollers; we finally got rid of the worst couch in the history of coaches. This couch has served us well, yes, but it is gross, there is no spring left, the cushions look like hot dogs and the bottom, underside of this lovely piece of furniture has been eaten alive by our lovely pup Mongo. As a side note when mongo was a wee pup of 6 weeks old he could fit under the couch and he would go under there to sleep and get away from his big sister, Mellow the black lab. However, while he was supposedly sleeping Mongo, the super pup would eat his way up through the bottom lining of the couch and sleep between the cushions and the abyss that is the underneath of a couch. Now how did we find this tidbit out? Adam sat down one day to the unpleasant rumble of Mongo beneath him both feeling him and hearing him... back to the couch... its time is passed and we FINALLY got a brand new beautiful, full fluffed cushioned couch HOORAAY! it will be here the 23rd of July, look for updates on its greatness.

On our awesome adventure to the furniture store we also purchased our first recliner, leather even. The one Adam really liked was more expensive and more importantly the design was hideous, OMG is it ever necessary to design an extra ring of chair poof around the existing chair, it looked like a FUPA for a chair, just thinking about it makes me cringe, my willingness to even consider purchasing A recliner was nearly shot.

Yet, with some convincing, or should I say ordering all was resolved and Adam redeemed himself. He went online and found our couch for 25 dollars cheaper and a coupon, I LOVE COUPONS, for 50 bucks off! Now thats what I call a deserving hubby. Love you boo!

Now back to the best job ever...
