Friday Night
On Friday we played couples golf with the Bradfords at Greene Country Club. This week the theme was Olympics. Because the Olympics this year is in Beijing, China the golf outing had a chinese theme. Now at Couples Golf two couple pair up to make a team and then they play 9 holes of golf, best ball style, but there is always a little more too it, and alcohol is premitted and encouraged. The teams with lowest scores at the end of 9 holes are rewarded small cash prizes, first, second and third places. Dinner is served, optional, afterwards and is always aligned with the theme for the night. So each hole we had to do something different, hole one each person had to only drive, irons, chip or putt. 2: you had to wear a mask while driving, 3: use 2nd best ball 4: where a hat and goggles while putting 5: everyone had to use the same and only club for the entire hole. 6: play the hole backwards 7: hit all shots on one leg 8: dont remeber 9: yell a very long chinese greeting to a neighboring couple
Aside from me almost causing serious injury to my hubby and yelling "dont hurt yourself" as I did it the night was great (check out the bradford blog for more on that tidbit) We enjoyed the yummy chinese buffet dinner afterwards and then called it a night. It makes you think 3 years ago my night was just starting at 930 and now thats when its winding down... funny how times and priorities change.
Saturday Night
Satruday night Adam and I drove up to Columbus, OH about an hour away to attend the first annual wine and cheese dinner party at the residence of Jonah and Jodie Schneider. Adam and Jonah grew up together and we the couple was married in May 08 . So it was a great chance to see their house and just hang out. We got there around 6, perfect timing. We shared the evening with two other couples, 'Angry Dave', Paul and Lauren Cloud. The wine and cheese (water and cheese party for me :) haha) Jonah and Jodie got their wine selection from Vino 100 an awesome wine store with 100 wines under 25 dollars. The hit wine of the night was called New Age its a toned down champagne esque wine with 9.5 % alcohol and supposedly really tasty. After filling up on cheese we had lasagna salad and garlic bread.
Well the guys and girls split respectively and chatted about anything and everything. The guys, including my hubby enjoyed more than a little wine and eventually ran to the gas station for some stoggies (swisher sweets to be exact) around midnight we managed to make it home despite that fact Adam was taking random pictures as I was passing semis on the way back to beavercreek.
All in all, the weekend was great and whats better than a lazy sunday afternoon for the cherry on top
