With so much attention always on the babe, Adam and I decided to give a little TLC to the pups. Maybe it was more like messing with Mongo's already fragile psyche, haha!
Here you see me in the background, dwarfed by Mongo in his cage and now Mellow trying to fit her way into our cozy position. I think Mongo almost cried when I crawled into his crate, his one last "safe place" from the wrath of Mellow and inquisitive Camden. Oh no, I locked in! Actually, I see why Mongo likes it. Cozy, quiet and away from it ALL! I am moving in.

Camden's 9 mos Appt
Camden had her 9 mos dr's appt on Aug. 28th and she did marvelous. She is just shy of 20 lbs and 28.5 in long. The doctor said her proportions were perfect and a beneficial characteristic of breastfed babies - woohoo! A nice payoff for all the pumping :-)
She also had a flu shot for the upcoming flu season. She didnt even cry after the shot, she just threw her hands down and shot the nurse a dirty look, oh dear ... I think we have created a monster

The product is Buggy Buddies, they are fit in the seat of a grocery cart and protect the baby from germs, sharp edges and also entertain them while you shop. We also have ones that fit in High Chairs for eating out.
DIY for the real world
Floor restoration/removal for those in the real world and not on HGTV or the DIY Network does take a little longer than a 30 minute time slot of Saturday morning, but even with Camden and 2 dogs running a muck the process wasnt that bad once we got the right tool for the job and some very helpful advice from our neighbor Eric who is the home improvement professional of the neighborhood. The flooring was originally nasty stained gross carpet from the previous owners of the house. So about 2 weeks ago, unknown to Adam, I pulled up the carpet just to see what was lurking underneath, as expected there were beautiful hardwood floors just waiting for their moment to shine. Finally, last Saturday I started tearing out carpet during Camden's nap to find a world of difficulty.
First I had to figure out how to get around/work with the closets in the hallway, Secondly the carpet padding was stapled down to the floor with about A MILLION staples. It seriously looked like someone got a new staple gun for their birthday and just went wild with it. And lastly, this is the best part, there were THREE tack strips holding the carpet down along the wall. Did you say 3, but there is supposed to be just one! NO THREE. The first one was easy and came right up with the pry bar, the second was a bear. It was old, rotting and nailed in with DRYWALL SCREWS, who does that? Its like the old owners ran out of nails and instead of a quick trip to Lowes they just said, "Hey, I can just use these leftover drywall screws!" That was fun. The last strip was under the wall trim, but we managed to get it out without too much demo. Tuesday we finally got everything out and all that is left is to put the doorway peices in, which are easy enough for me to tackle today.
The doorway before the final pieces are added.

Baby on a mission
Oh I'm not doing anything sneaky, nope not me, never... Escaping from the seen of the crime
HAHA Water bowl slip n slide time
HAHA Water bowl slip n slide time
Lately Camden has been one mission after another. Since she has started crawling with ease she is on the move and ready to make her mark. She has discovered the dog's water bowl and how fun it is to tip it over and then slip and slide all over the floor in the wet soppy mess. HOW FUN!!! Wow I am so excited she learned how to do this ....(a bit of a sarcastic undertone) It wouldnt be so bad if Mellow and Mongo's water bowl wasnt the size of a LARGE mixing bowl.
